Alignment with Other Standards
ISO 9001 contains elements that are designed to be compatible with the structures of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 (under ISO Directive Annex SL 2013), allowing organizations to more easily align their QMS with other existing management systems. Recent food safety standards, such as FSSC 22000, also are structured in a similar Plan-Do-Check-Adjust framework. Development & Implementation
KTL has substantial experience developing and implementing custom QMS and fully aligned (i.e., with safety, environmental, food safety) management systems for industrial clients. We help companies deploy ISO 9001 into and across operations, with the goal of embedding it as a standard way of doing business. Our approach includes the following
- Conduct working session and review relevant information to understand current scope of operations, quality management, and governance structure across the organization.
- Conduct gap assessment to evaluate the current (“as-is”) condition of the QMS against the desired (“to-be”) condition.
- Determine key components of the QMS to achieve business objectives and steps of the QMS implementation (design and facility deployment) to achieve those objectives.
- Identify a recommended QMS organization, roles, and responsibilities, including QMS design and implementation teams.
- Provide aspect/impact-driven review and development of operational work instructions
- Create a development and implementation schedule and recommended resource allocation.
- Provide relevant training, as appropriate.
Connected to Business Strategy
KTL works with organizations to ensure that any QMS is connected to the business strategy. This involves working with management to take ownership for the QMS and creating a vision and strategy for the organization, its employees, and customers to follow and interact with in a mutually beneficial manner.
Following a process approach, we help organizations exhibit systematic control of any/all changes to products and/or services. We help define the inputs and outputs of each process, measure performance indicators, and assign appropriate responsibility to ensure the QMS is being implemented throughout the organization.
Under an established QMS, day-to-day operations should:
